Argeneau Series:
Book 7:
The Accidental Vampire: Victor Argeneau and Elvi Black
Summary:
Victor lost his life mate centuries ago and never quite recovered. As an enforcer for the council he is sent to the town of Port Henry to investigate a female vampire that placed a wanted ad in the newspaper for a male vampire mate, which is very much against the few rules the Council has set in place. Victor and his partner are convinced that this is all a hoax but they are sent on the off chance that there really is a female vampire looking for a mate. Elvi went on vacation to Mexico a 62 year old woman and came back as a Vampire looking 25 again. She has no idea if there are any other Vampires let alone that there are rules, she just has information based on movies, books and folklore. She also has no idea that her lifelong friends have put an ad in the newspaper looking for a boyfriend for her. When Victor and DJ arrive in Port Henry they realize that nothing is quite what it seems, Victor doesn’t know what to quite make of this unique situation and when he realizes he can’t read Elvi he knows he is going to have to handle everything very delicately. When attempts on Elvi’s life start occurring Victor has to now worry about the council as well as some unseen enemy from killing his lifemate.
Review:
The story was humorous in places, but over all mostly mediocre. It was a watered down version of previous stories. I’d say skip this one but it looks like it is going to be a precursor to Lynsay Sands next one in the series due out in August.
