What I Thought:

Overall I thought it was a pretty good movie. The acting in the beginning was pretty over the top but seems to even out and get to a more realistic level as the movie went on. Capt Jack Sparrow was his usual charming self throughout the movie. There were quite a few laughs and I liked the addition of Blackbeard and his daughter, Angelica. Occasionally the movie did seem to drag and it was quite long at 2.5 hours, but it usually picked back up pretty quickly. The special effects were as good as previous movies, you won’t be disappointed there. I do have to admit it did seem kind of odd to have Pirates of the Caribbean movie without Elizabeth Swan and Will, but we still had the faithful Giggs and Sparrows arch nemesis Barbossa.
