Ok, this review will probably be pretty short, because I can only gush so much and in so many ways. So, I ADORE Molly Harper! Ms. Harper has not done me wrong yet… I absolutely love to laugh and I know every time I pick up a Molly Harper book I will laugh my a$$ off. This book was no exception. There were parts that had me laughing until I cry and that is the best feeling! That is why I read a Molly Harper book.
 
I thought this book was going to pick up from where Driving Mr. Dead left off, but this book actually takes pace before Driving Mr. Dead, so If you haven’t read that book, you will be fine. In this book Iris’s business is still pretty new and she is making ends meet but it’s a struggle. She has a teenage sister that she has pretty much raised and most of her decisions are based on the fact that there is a teenager in house. Until Cal is poisoned and offers Iris a LOT of money to house him until he can find the vampires that are poisoning other vamps. The dynamic starts off very snarky, they take pot shots at each other which is quite amusing. Cal doesn’t know what to do with Iris, he certainly isn’t used to someone taking shots at him let alone a small young human. Iris is determined to keep this stray vampire at an arms distance or maybe a poles distance, she doesn’t like vampires, she may work for them but that doesn’t mean she had to come in contact with them very often. Until Cal, she hadn’t spent any significant time with vampires and now she has one living with her and she becomes increasingly more and more attracted to him. As the danger increases so does the attraction between Cal and Iris.
 
Add to this interesting dynamic between Iris and Cal, throw in GiGi. I loved the Iris, GiGi, Cal dynamic. They started to come together as a little family. I liked that GiGi was a teenager instead of a baby or little kid. She was able to add a lot to the story. She was sassy and funny. The inside jokes between Iris and GiGi were quite funny, especially all the things Iris would do to embarrass the hell out of GiGi! Then Cal started treating GiGi as one of his own, almost like a parent. When a young gentleman showed up to take GiGi on a date, man oh man, hilar!
 
The bad guy in this book was fairly transparent; I didn’t have much problems who was the mastermind. But who cares!?! I don’t read Molly Harper for the” who done it”, I read Molly Harper to laugh, and to enjoy the story and characters! There was much to enjoy with Iris, Cal and Gigi. We even get cameos from Jane and Co…
 
Don’t forget to read the excerpt at the end of this book! For the next book in this series, I read it and it looks good!
