Summary:
She’s fought like hell to leave the past behind.

Trix changed her name and her life when she got clean four years ago. Now, she has a new family and a job she loves—tending bar and dancing at the Broken Circle. As an O’Kane, she’s happy, untouchable. Until a nightmare from her old life tears her away from her home and drags her back to Hell—also known as Sector Five.

He’s still living—and dying—in it.

Losing Trix was the kick in the head Finn needed to get sober, but working as an enforcer for a man he hates is slowly crushing his soul. The only thing that keeps him going is his determination to destroy Sector Five from the inside. Then Trix comes back into his life—alive, in danger—and nothing else matters.

Getting her home could be a suicide mission. The only thing deadlier is the old spark that flares to life between them. Soon, Finn and Trix are battling the one addiction neither of them ever managed to kick—each other. And it could cost them everything.

Review:
Beyond Addiction by Kit Rocha is the fifth installment in one of my favorite series. It is a post-apocalyptic dystopian series where the O’Kanes rule their sector with an iron fist, or brass knuckles, or any other weapon they can get their hands on. The men are tough and the women even more so! Sector Four isn’t all about the harsh life, they are also about pleasure and they are not shy about it.

Beyond Addition leaves off where the cliff hanger in Beyond Jealously left off. Trix has been abducted and drugged and taken to another sector. There will be war if Trix isn’t taken back to Four and in one peace. Trix escaped to Sector Four addicted to drugs with barely her life intact, when she left she left everything behind letting everyone think she was dead including the one man that meant everything to her. When Finn walked into the office and saw Tracy tied up, drugged and ALIVE he LOST it. He’s had a death wish for years, since Tracy “died”, barely living, going through the motions and plotting this bosses down fall. When he walks in and sees Tracy/Trix all his plans fall to the side as he puts a bullet in his boss and takes off with Trix. On the run he must get Trix back in one piece even if it kills him and It just might when he has a whole sector after him.

I love a good second chance at love story. When Trix and Finn find their way back to each other it’s electric. Finn has barely been living for years and when he sees Trix again it’s like he’s suddenly alive again. She was his reason for living and now he has to make sure she stays living. On the run, Trix is coming down hard from the drugs, but she is thinking more clearly then she has in years. She has regretted one thing from her old life and that was Finn, but to survive she had to leave him behind. Finn has a second chance, and he doesn’t regret the way things ended with Tracy, he’s glad she left that she has a good life, found a family, he’s not even mad that he thought her dead for the last four years. Her death was the catalyst to getting clean. Now four years later he has another chance and a clear head. The guilt is still there for everything he couldn’t do for her but mostly there is lust and dare I say love. Trix is Finn’s number one priority and he will do everything in his power to keep her happy and healthy. Trix has Finn back and she is not losing him. She will bring him back to Sector Four and he will be alive make up for the last four years they have been a part. She’s had a good life the past four years but one thing has been missing and she is not losing it again.

I loved Finn and Trix together, and I love that they found their way to each other but it was pretty easy. They found each other and both were determined to make it work. They were a pretty solid unit from the time they reconnected until the end. They had a few bumps but they always find a way to get through. For me this book was more about the sectors and the coming war than anything else. There is strife not only between the sectors but the sectors and Eden. Power plays are being made and Dallas is doing what a leader has to do and making his own plays to protect what is his. On this play Finn is instrumental, Finn has inside knowledge that lives are depending on. Trix has made her way into the O’Kanes but Finn has a lot to prove. There is plenty of bad blood between Finn and some of the O’Kanes but for Trix he has to make a go of this new life and maybe he’ll find a new life of his own in the process. As per the O’Kane usual there is plenty of debauchery to go around. That is part of the O’Kane lifestyle and one that Finn and Trix live up to! Pretty much from the beginning they are steaming up the pages. And there is this one scene, there is always that one scene that sticks out from the rest and this book is no exception. The writing duo that is Kit Rocha, knows how to keep the sexy times a coming and coming and coming. This is another great installment of the O’Kanes and I can’t see where it goes next. If you are new to the Beyond series I highly recommend starting from the beginning as each book building onto the next.
